Derek Anderson cracks a smile

While being embarrassed by the San Francisco 49'ers on Monday Night Football, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Derek Anderson was caught smiling while talking to another player on the bench. Considering they were down 18 points at the time, this caused the media to question Anderson after the game. Anderson exploded saying "he takes it seriously" and "this isn't funny to him". Do you think fans should be upset about Derek's sideline smirk?

Personally, I can see both sides. After an embarrassing loss this year in soccer, I remember being so mad hearing teammates joke on the bench and the bus after the game. When Peyton Manning has a bad game, you don't see him yukkin' it up on the bench. But at the same time, I can see how laughing things off is sometimes better. When you lose really bad, it's sometimes better to just laugh it off and get ready for the next game. Anderson could have just made a slight joke about how bad they suck or were losing. It doesn't mean he doesn't take football seriously.

  1. I think that it was fine what he did and the media needs to back off. They do not know what he was laghing about and they do not need to. Another thing shown by him is that he has good team chemistry by talking to his lineman while he was laughing. Only they know what was said so let's keep it that way.

  2. I think it is funny how the press try's to get athletes all mad so that they have a story to write about. The press is stupid and there is no point to it. To me the press is pointless. Their job is to write and talk about sporting events, they don't need to since everyone is watching the game. So why do they need to report on it and try to make athletes mad just for a story?

  3. I think the media is looking for a story. I don't think it's a bad thing that he was smiling on the bench. I think it is a okay to brush a bad game off with a smile. This shouldn't even have been an issue. I'm sure plenty of other people smile when they're losing; they just didn't catch it on camera.

  4. I also think the media was making a big deal out of this. Even though the Cardinals were getting beat, it's still alright to smile and have fun while playing.

  5. I believe that depending on what they said, it would be alright to laugh. The only thing that Anderson should be careful about is when he smiles. It looks bad to everyone. He needs to explain the situation.

  6. No matter if a player does good or bad, the media will always try and turn what you say against you. In this situation Derek Anderson did have a meltdown but it shouldn't have been this big of news.

  7. When dpin that bad in a game, all you can do is really smile about your faults. its not what people want to here but there is no reason to beat yourself up over a game.
